Tip 1
Don't wear a hair or make-up style that you've never worn before. Emphasize
your best features by doing what you already know works for you. If you've
had bangs your whole life, don't pull your hair tight back on your wedding
day. Your guests will want to see the prettiest you, not a completely different
you.
Tip 2
Strapless gowns are in this season! The problem is that no matter how perfectly
fit your gown is, there's the constant fear it's going to fall. Every
wedding photographer can attest to the countless photos of brides caught
pulling up the top of their gown. Opt for a more romantic off the shoulder
look if it suits you, or try a strapless gown with sheer straps.
Tip 3
Wear comfortable shoes! There's nothing worse than being completely uncomfortable
on the most important day of your life. Comfortable feet will not only
dictate your posture, but also your frame of mind. The thing to look
for is a simple white shoe that you can easily embellish with some sequins
and pretty additions from a local craft store. If you need heels for
the height, try dancers character shoes in white and embellish.
Tip 4
Don't give your guests another boring wedding favor that they have no use
for. Try something unique but useful. Flower seeds for a spring wedding
is a popular trend. Make it unique by hand-painting your own designs
on mini terra-cotta pots. Sounds like too much work? Have your bridesmaids
help out and make it an afternoon with the girls. Handmade soaps are
simple to make using kits from the local craft store. They are also inexpensive
if you don't want to make them yourself and come in lots of shapes and
themes. Candles are useful but predictable. For a beach wedding, try
filling pretty clam shells with pink candle wax.
Tip 5
There is no such thing as the perfect wedding day! Accept this possibility
and you won't be setting yourself up for disappointment. The average
wedding day is exhausting, exhilerating and chaotic. Yours will be too!
The best thing you can do on your wedding day is Relax. This may sound
like a hard thing to do but here's how: Get a good night's sleep the
day before. Make sure you eat at least one good meal during the day.
Drink a glass of water in between each snack and cocktail. Enjoy the
spontaneous, unplanned moments of the day. Your wedding day will go by
so quickly, and you've done so much to prepare for it, remain calm and
allow yourself to enjoy every minute of it!
Tip 6
Don't feel bloated on your wedding day! The week before your wedding day
can get pretty chaotic; Running around with last minute details, taking
care of out-of-town guests, rehearsel dinners, and general anxiety. Don't
ruin a month's worth of exercise and healthy eating with last minute
Chinese take-out and an overload of alcohol consumption. Drinking 8 glasses
of water a day is extremely helpful. It will help you crave less food
and keep you feeling slim. Walking for even 20 minutes a day will help
with not only your circulation but your state of mind. Also try to avoid
salty foods the week before. Whether you're cooking at home or out to
dinner, avoid fried foods, salty meats like sausage, ham & salami,
take-out foods like pizza and Chinese food, and salty snacks like popcorn
and pretzels. Reward yourself by splurging on the big day and don't forget
your honeymoon!

What's big in 2006? Individuality and bold designs. Brides, Express Your
Personal Style! This year it's all about focusing on the bride's unique and
individual style.
Last spring's biggest welcome was cool refreshments before the wedding like mint juleps, and lavender-hibiscus lemonade. This year choose your own favorites and surprise your guests.
Having trouble choosing your wedding style?
• Consider your personal style
first.
• Choose your wedding location next.
• Pick your wedding theme based on the first two.
Are you a free spirit? Have a beach wedding. Think seashells and tropical drinks. More traditional? Have your wedding in an historic mansion. Have your invitations hand printed with 19th century calligraphy. Sentimental? Have your wedding at the place you first met or at the home you grew up in.

Did you know? The Bridal Shower originated with the intent to strengthen friendships between the bride and her friends. In this gathering, the bride's friends would give her moral support and help her prepare for her marriage. The idea to give gifts is fairly new; originating in the 1890‚s. At one shower, the bride's friend placed small gifts inside a parasol and opened it over the bride's head so that the presents would "shower" over her. When word of this hit the fashion pages, people were so taken with the idea that they decided to do the same at their showers.
